By Chriselda Mashaba
Inspired by the teachings of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, 22-year-old LESEDI MAMATELA has published a Christian motivational book titled ‘GET UP WOMAN’ and set for launch on 24 September at Altron Conference Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg. OUR ECGNEWS reporter caught up with her to get more details about this book.
For purposes of Understanding, initials CM will stand for Chriselda Mashaba and LM for Lesedi Mamatela
CM: Thank you very much Lesedi for taking our interview. Can you briefly just tell us about yourself?
LM: You are welcome. I am in college, studying towards being an accountant at the University of Johannesburg.
CM: What specifically is in the book?
LM: It’s a motivational book. Basically, I am reminding women of the authority they have been given by God in [Genesis 1:26]. I remind them that they can do what men can do and even greater. I discuss issues such as confidence, choosing the right circle, being a prayerful woman, learning to be content, learning how to be secure, having a heart of gratitude, being a woman that lifts other women up, being strong, knowing that you are a valuable woman, how one should value their time, reminding them that they have been forgiven and they should be determined to finish the race.
CM: What inspired you to start thinking of writing the book?
LM: I was inspired by my spiritual father’s teaching one day; he spoke about how women don’t know the amount of power and authority they carry. That God has called them to a greater purpose and they should never forget that God gave authority to all humankind and not just men.
CM: So how has been the process of putting up the book?
LM: Putting my thoughts together was quite a difficult task. I had over 21 topics, going through my mind that I wanted to discuss. I, however, had to merge it into 11 topics. It took me almost a year to finally complete all the chapters, after having to rewrite the entire book at some point. But the overall experience was worth it.
CM: I understand the book is being published by Shepherd Bushiri Publishers (SBP). Which age groups are you targeting and where will this book be accessed once launched?
LM: I am mostly argeting ladies from the ages of 16-35. Mainly because I am still a youth and the challenges I encountered to this very age, they can relate to it. The book will be in all ECG branches, National Library, CNA, Amazon, Cum books, exclusive books and University of Johannesburg
CM: Thank you very much and we wish you well.
LM: You are welcome and I thank ECGNEWS for the support and also the great job you are doing in spreading the gospel.
