Pretoria– Leader of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is, from today, hosting all national pastors and leaders from all ECG branches across the world for a two-day Gender Sensitivity Training which will culminate into the launch of the church’s Gender Based Violence Policy.
All pastors and leaders, from all 30 countries where ECG Church operates, were called to attend. About 450 pastors across South Africa and a further 220 from outside South Africa are taking part in this two days exercise being held at the church’s headquarters in Tshwane.
The prophet said the launch of the Gender Based Violence (GBV) Policy will be adopted into the church’s Code of Conduct and Governing Ethics.
“The GBV policy is meant to promote and further the respect and protection of the rights of women and children.
”It will ensure and affirm that the church has a zero-tolerance policy towards any kind of violence and abuse directed at women and children at the church, or where such violence is committed by members of the church at their private households or workplaces,” he said.
The prophet said he hoped that the training and teaching will equip pastors with wisdom and tools which they can take to over 700 branches in South Africa.
“ECG church hopes that this initiative can positively impact local communities all around South Africa and abroad, which are afflicted by femicide and abuse of women.
Among the many pastors and leaders who attended the training came from countries like Malawi, Kenya, USA, Nigeria Tanzania India, South Korea, Angola, Ghana and others.
ECG is a prophetic church with its headquarters in Pretoria, South Africa. The church operates in 30 countries and has over 180 branches across the world.
