The South African based Malawian gospel artist Onesimus has come back with a hit track “FOYU” featuring Nigerian giant, Tekno.
Speaking to ECG News, the artist said FOYU is a single which he has brought out to unite Africans as it speaks unity and togetherness, “I am doing this song to unite Africa. The beat itself is a mixture of different cultures which I am presenting to you a spirit of Africanisation,” he said.
The Malawian-born gospel pop star has been making Africa dance and sing with his greatest songs. Together, Vusi Nova and Onesimus released a single a few months ago called ‘Baba God– and FOYU, as Onesimus puts it, is a follow up of Baba God.
As seen in his recent endeavours of joining forces with different African artists, the gospel artist said his mandate is to preach peace and unity among Africans: “Being a gospel artist, I am using this platform to preach peace, unity, togetherness and oneness among all Africans. FOYU is a song that praises God in an African culture with lyrics from my personal life and experience
“I see God, who took me from my homeland, Malawi and carried me to all corners of the earth spreading His love through music, blessing me beyond what I imagined,” he added.
Recently, Onesimus recieved nomination at the 2019 Afrima Awards-the Best Male Artist in Inspirational Music.
