The Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Church members came out in numbers to support their leaders Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Prophetess Mary Bushiri at Pretoria Specialized commercial crime court today. Bushiri’s members seems very confident with T shirts printed ‘#IamStandingWithMajor1′.

A bigger chunk of the crowd arrived at the commercial Court as early as 06h30.

While the court proceedings are expected to start at 08h00, ECG News has learnt that some members of Prophet Bushiri spent a night outside the court praying for their spiritual parents.

Speaking to this publication, Maphosa Nelson who is one of the supporters outside court said his support for the two Prophet’s is personal. He claims Prophet Bushiri changed his life.

“I’m a radio personality and I serve God in the media department at ECG church. I came here to support my father Major1 Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and Mom prophetess Mary Bushiri. I have seen the hand of the Lord upon my life since I started coming to ECG in February 2015 on papa’s birthday. Since then everything in my life changed, starting from my career. Where I am now, I am proud and happy to say it is because of their God and their anointing. I am here to say enough is enough, they must just free our father. I love them so much,” he said.

The couple was arrested earlier this year on the 1st of February for fraud, money laundering and contravention of the prevention of organized crime act (POSA). They appeared at the specialized commercial crime court in Pretoria on the 6th of February, where they received a bail of R100, 000 each. The case was then scheduled for May 10th, but  was again postponed to August 29th.

On Wednesday, the communications and public relations office of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri released a statement which stated that they will not be offering interviews, comments or divulging any information during the court appearance.
