Black First Land First (BFL) movement has condemned the incessant attacks on leader and founder of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Church Prophet Shepherd Bushiri by pastor Paseka ‘Mboro’ Motsoeneng.
Speaking at a press briefing in Johannesburg recently, BLF leader Andile Mngxitama said they have noted with concern the sustained public attacks on Prophet Bushiri by Prophet Mboro and it is troubling.
“We stood with Prophet Bushiri when he was attacked just because he is a young successful black leader that’s why he is being dragged into courts. When you look at the charges you can see this is all trumped up,” he said.
He added that xenophobic utterances made by prophet Mboro against Prophet Bushiri were of grave concern and unfortunate.
“Pastor Mboro has on more than one occasion called on Prophet Bushiri to go home. At no stage has pastor Mboro told the church of England and the Catholic Church to go back home these are concerning development that must be check immediately.
BLF condemns the xenophobic statements aimed at black on black hatred of African living in South Africa,” he emphasized.
Mngxitama stated that South Africa has a myriad of problems and could not afford to see the clergy at each other’s throat which he said would have it would have negative repercussions in the socio-economic development of the country
“We can’t afford to see some of our faith community leaders at war. We are a people in pain and a people in crises,” he noted.
